Gateway Tracking Club is dedicating all tests in 2024 to Dorothy Everett who passed away Jan 2024. Dottie was a charter member of our club and always showed great enthusiasm for the sport of tracking. She became a tracking judge 1975/1976. Her knowledge of tracking and her friendship will be missed.
Please take a few minutes of your day to remember/say a blessing for Dottie.
The Gateway Tracking Club, founded in 1979 by the local tracking enthusiasts, was then and is today dedicated to:
1. encouraging and promoting dog training, particularly with respect to tracking. 2. protect and advance the interest of dogs. 3. provide competent tracking instruction and training to dog owners. 4. the study of the ability of dogs to track and to advance knowledge of scent discrimination. 5. conduct tracking matches and tests under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club. 6. promote the objectives and standards of the American Kennel Club, particularly with respect to tracking.
We have a membership roster of people from diverse backgrounds, the common link being their love of dogs and the sport of tracking. We have the distinction of over 100 collective titles and the expertise of 4 current judges and 4 retired judges among our members.
The club offers interesting and educational opportunities for the novice as well as the experienced dog owner. All of our classes and seminars are open to the general public with purebred or mixed breed dogs. The general public is, also, always welcome at our AKC tracking tests which is a great place to learn about tracking.
We have many exciting events happening in the St. Louis area. The club will be offering
